A New Era for Technopark Gardens
Technopark is entering a new chapter of ecological and aesthetic transformation, with several major garden upgrades underway. These enhancements are not only improving biodiversity and beauty, but also creating inviting green spaces for all who work and visit here.
The Fynbos Garden
The Fynbos Walk area is currently undergoing a complete renewal and regeneration. Indigenous plant species are being introduced to restore the natural charm of this vital greenbelt, bringing new colour, texture, and vibrancy to the heart of Technopark. The area will soon reflect the true biodiversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
The Tree Island
In the centre of Technopark’s dual carriageway, the tree island has seen significant landscaping improvements, with the addition of mature tree species and undergrowth. This verdant upgrade softens the visual impact of the main road while contributing to shade, air quality, and a more welcoming arrival experience.
The Fern Garden
One of the most exciting developments is the expansive new Fern Garden surrounding the bench that overlooks the middle dam. Featuring dozens of thriving Leather Leaf and Sword Ferns, this lush corner offers a peaceful space to pause and enjoy nature. The area around the dams now enjoys better aesthetics, improved biodiversity, and more consistent maintenance than at any point in the past four years.
Sustaining the Growth: Irrigation & Support
Significant planning and investment have gone into expanding irrigation infrastructure throughout Technopark. Multiple rollout plans have been submitted—several of which are already approved—ensuring that green spaces are nourished sustainably and consistently.
The recent attention to the dual carriageway section has been bolstered by generous donations and an upcoming collaboration with Stellenbosch Municipality to secure bulk plant resources.
