What happens when businesses in Technopark come together?

Ideas are shared. Connections are made. And new opportunities begin.

On 19 August 2026, Technopark brought its business community together at the Protea Hotel for an evening of networking, conversation and fresh ideas and the result was exactly what we hoped for: a room full of people connecting, collaborating and looking beyond their own businesses.

The evening gave Technopark tenants, partners, and guests the opportunity to meet fellow business leaders while gaining valuable insight into the economic opportunities shaping Stellenbosch, the Cape Winelands and the Western Cape.

Our guest speaker, David King, Head: Strategic Projects at Wesgro, shared an insightful perspective on the role Wesgro plays in positioning Cape Town and the Western Cape to compete in an increasingly challenging global economy. As part of the broader economic leadership team for the region, Wesgro sits at the important intersection between government and the private sector, local and global stakeholders, and today’s economy and the economy of the future.

David highlighted Wesgro’s mandate to strengthen the region’s global position by attracting investment, growing exports, increasing tourism and business events, and ensuring that the Western Cape remains a future-fit, relevant and trusted tourism, trade and investment destination. But perhaps the biggest takeaway from the evening was that economic growth doesn’t happen in isolation.

It happens when businesses connect.
When knowledge is shared.
When ideas meet opportunity.
And when people are willing to collaborate.

That is the kind of community we want to continue building at Technopark, one where businesses don’t simply share an address, but actively connect, collaborate and contribute to a thriving innovation ecosystem. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success.

Here’s to more conversations, more connections and more opportunities created together.

Because when businesses come together, possibilities grow.
