Imalivest has two main operating activities, proprietary investments and asset management. It manages assets of more than R300m, owned mostly by its directors and their families. Other clients are becoming important investors, especially in the Imalivest Flexible Fund.

Who We Are

We are a leading financial services group, originally established as a life insurance company in 1918. We demutualised and listed on the JSE Limited and Namibian Stock Exchange in 1998.

Our head office is in Bellville near Cape Town in South Africa and we have offices throughout South Africa and business interests elsewhere in Africa, Europe, India, the USA and Australia.

Beginnings
In 1988, Mitchell-Hutchins, a division of Paine Webber,
contracted with the Burgiss Group to build one of the world's
first private equity database systems for limited partners. Over
the past twenty years, our solutions have evolved from desktop
applications to sophisticated, web-based products and services.
Today, we serve hundreds of the largest investors in private
equity, who together have invested over one trillion dollars in
private market investments
